Just a flavor:

I only have about 10 minutes until class, but here are some pictures to give you a flavor of the Holy Land. I wish I had more time, but I have homework; what can I say?

This is a view from the center. Since arriving here, we have heard countless stories about how much persecution the church endured in order to get the land and building materials for this building. Not only does it give us an opportunity to come learn in the Holy Land, but it gives our church a presence in this city.

This picture probably isn't worthy of blogging... but I just get such a kick out of it! All the merchants in town LOVE the BYU students. They were so excited for us to arrive and sell us scarves, watches, posters and falafels :) This man was pushing for us to take his picture. I don't quite know how the boys felt about that... but Ophir was sure happy!

The thing about the BYU-JC program is that it is SO SO BUSY! Since we all live together, have identical school schedules, membership in the same branch, and all want to see the same sites, we really don't ever separate. It's a good thing I'm a people person, or this could get pretty claustrophobic :) Anyway, because we lead the same lives, nothing ever overlaps. Unlike life in Provo, I never have to choose between 2 good activities, and telling friends "I have too much homework to play with you" doesn't work. They know exactly what I have to do. Because it's on their to do list too!

Dearest Stefanie:

I can hardly wait to get to my computer each day to see if there is a blog from you. Today, after exercise class, I rushed to my computer, and there it was, pictures and all. Thank you for your running commentary, and pictues of the characters you see.

Oh my gosh! I'm LOVING seeing pictures of you there. Excellent camera you have I might add!! I want to hear more of the juicy details....maybe a longgeee in the near future? You look like you're having a lot of fun, and I'm glad you got a picture of a vendor. :)

are either of the top pics from the BYU-JC?

Yeah, I liked that vendor; and the boy on the right was pretty cute! :) Does it work to read together, discuss, quiz each other and then take breaks and finally play? You'd better not leave me out if you send Noelle a longggeee! I love the shots and look forward to some zoom in close ups on faces. You're gonna be so excited to read the scriptures in Hebrew! That really rocks! I'm very proud of you!

The Vendor, Ophir, was a character. He reminded me of Robin Williams in intro to Aladdin.

You are blessed to still be alive.

Keep it up.
